The Support Services Branch is comprised of the following sections:

Records
The Records Section of the department is responsible for maintaining and housing all the file information related to calls for service. It is staffed by civilian employees who work a variety of positions that support the reviewing, modifying, updating and classifying of files for statistical purposes, and overseen by a Records Supervisor.
APD uses a records management system known as PRIME - Police Records Information Management Environment. This is a shared system used by all police agencies in the Province.
Communications
The Communications Section is comprised of the Public Information Counter and the Operational Communications Centre. The Public Information Counter responds to walk in traffic, processes security clearances and responds to general inquiries from the public, including answering the departments switchboard. The Operational Communications Centre is a 24/7 centre that responds to non emergency and emergency calls, including all 911 calls for the Abbotsford area, as well as overseeing the care and control of officers in response to calls for service. Support Services also oversees the radio system and telephony component of Communications.
Freedom Of Information
All information collected by the Abbotsford Police Department is subject to Provincial legislation regarding privacy laws, and certain information cannot be released without consent. APD has a FOI Coordinator who is responsible for ensuring that our agency complies with all regulations and laws related to Freedom of Information and the Protection of Privacy.
Information Technology
This section is tasked with supporting the various computer systems that are employed by the Department.
Property Office
All property that is found or seized during an investigation is stored in our Property Office located on Marshall Road within our Community Police Office and can be returned to owners from that location.
Inventory Control
On a daily basis, this section is responsible for issuing portable radios and patrol cars to officers, as well as issuing other items on an as needed basis such as uniforms and other equipment.
Detention, Facilities & Fleet Management
Support Services is also responsible for the detention area, facilities management and fleet management.
