AbbyPD Crime Reduction Unit Investigating Telecommunications Wire Thefts

During the past few weeks, the Abbotsford Police Department Crime Reduction Unit has been investigating an uptick in commercial wire thefts targeting Telus communication lines throughout the Abbotsford area.

These thefts have resulted in over $100,000 worth of damage to Telus infrastructure, interrupting critical 911 and other telecommunication services.

On Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at 2:05 PM, AbbyPD patrol officers responded to a reported motor vehicle incident involving three vehicles in the 3000 block of Townline Road. in Abbotsford, BC.

Upon arrival to the scene, officers identified three drivers, two of which have been transported to hospital, with one appearing to have sustained life-threatening injuries.

The Abbotsford Police Department requests the public's assistance in locating 17-year-old Ellora.

Ellora was last seen on foot in the 5000 block of Riverside Street in Abbotsford between 5:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. today. Ellora has no known ties to Abbotsford and primarily frequents the Burnaby area.

Today, Tuesday, October 8, 2024, at 6:02 a.m., AbbyPD patrol officers responded to a reported collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian in the 34000 block of Gladys Avenue, Abbotsford, BC.

Upon arrival at the scene, officers identified a 60-year-old female suffering from life-threatening injuries. Unfortunately, she succumbed to her injuries.
