On August 17th, 2024, at 3:31 pm, AbbyPD Patrol Officers responded to a serious collision at the intersection of Golden Avenue and Trethewey Street.
Upon arrival, emergency service workers located a motor vehicle collision involving a motorcycle which had collided with a light standard. Tragically, the operator of the motorcycle succumbed to his injuries.
AbbyPD Patrol Officers, with the assistance of the Integrated Collision Analysis Reconstruction Service (ICARS), remain at the scene and are in the early stages of this investigation. Road closures are currently in effect and an update will be provided via social media once the roads reopen.
Investigators are seeking witnesses and dashcam footage from those who may have been driving near the collision location around that time. If you can assist, please call the Abbotsford Police Department Non-Emergency Line at 604-859-5225.
