This evening, at 6:45 pm, AbbyPD patrol officers responded to the 32900 block of George Ferguson Way for a reported collision involving a motor vehicle and a pedestrian.
Upon arrival, emergency service workers located a single vehicle that had struck a pedestrian on the roadway. The pedestrian sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to the hospital via air ambulance. The driver was uninjured, remained on the scene, and is cooperating with police.
On October 29, 2024, AbbyPD Patrol officers responded to a report of an overnight shooting that occurred within the 3700 block of Harwood Cres.
Shortly after 10:00 am, a resident in the area discovered that their truck parked in front of their residence had been struck by several bullets and called the police. No one was injured in this incident.

During the past few weeks, the Abbotsford Police Department Crime Reduction Unit has been investigating an uptick in commercial wire thefts targeting Telus communication lines throughout the Abbotsford area.
These thefts have resulted in over $100,000 worth of damage to Telus infrastructure, interrupting critical 911 and other telecommunication services.

On Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at 2:05 PM, AbbyPD patrol officers responded to a reported motor vehicle incident involving three vehicles in the 3000 block of Townline Road. in Abbotsford, BC.
Upon arrival to the scene, officers identified three drivers, two of which have been transported to hospital, with one appearing to have sustained life-threatening injuries.

The Abbotsford Police Department requests the public's assistance in locating 17-year-old Ellora.
Ellora was last seen on foot in the 5000 block of Riverside Street in Abbotsford between 5:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. today. Ellora has no known ties to Abbotsford and primarily frequents the Burnaby area.

Today, Tuesday, October 8, 2024, at 6:02 a.m., AbbyPD patrol officers responded to a reported collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian in the 34000 block of Gladys Avenue, Abbotsford, BC.
Upon arrival at the scene, officers identified a 60-year-old female suffering from life-threatening injuries. Unfortunately, she succumbed to her injuries.

The Abbotsford Police Department is investigating an incident that occurred on August 29, 2024, at approximately 1:30 PM on the hiking trails around Sumas Mountain Regional Park.
A female hiker reported being approached by an unknown male who allegedly attempted to pull her into his vehicle for unknown reasons. Fortunately, the hiker managed to break free and escape.

On Friday, August 30, 2024, at 6:53 a.m., AbbyPD officers responded to a reported collision at the intersection of Mt. Lehman Road and Marshall Road Extension in Abbotsford, BC.
Upon arrival, officers located a pickup truck in a ditch. The driver and sole occupant, identified as a 42-year-old male, appeared to have sustained life-threatening injuries. Despite immediate efforts by first responders, the individual unfortunately succumbed to his injuries.

On August 17th, 2024, at 3:31 pm, AbbyPD Patrol Officers responded to a serious collision at the intersection of Golden Avenue and Trethewey Street.
Upon arrival, emergency service workers located a motor vehicle collision involving a motorcycle which had collided with a light standard. Tragically, the operator of the motorcycle succumbed to his injuries.

Background:
In late 2022, the Abbotsford Police Department’s Drug Enforcement Unit initiated a
large-scale drug trafficking investigation focusing on the activities of two Abbotsford
residents, Anmol SANDHU and Navpreet DHALIWAL. Both men are connected to the
ongoing BC Gang Conflict and present a significant public safety risk.
