Abbotsford, BC – April 15th, 2025 - On the evening of April 14, 2025, between the hours of 10:00 PM and 11:45 PM, a female youth was alone in Downes Bowl Park, located in the 32400 block of Haida Drive. An unknown male, believed to be between 15 and 20 years old, approached and sexually assaulted her.

Update: AbbyPD Investigates Evening Sexual Assault at Mill Lake Park
Abbotsford, BC – April 4th, 2025 – The Abbotsford Police Department’s Major Crime Unit continues to advance this investigation. Today, investigators are releasing a composite sketch of the male suspect involved in the assault to the public, hoping to generate additional information. An additional detail about the suspect indicates that he spoke with an accent, suggesting that English might not be his first language.

This year, AbbyPD officers have already taken 345 impaired drivers off the roads, a significant increase from the 198 drivers removed during the same period in 2024.

Yesterday evening, March 24th, 2025, AbbyPD Patrol officers responded to a report of a sexual assault in Mill Lake Park that occurred at 6:40 pm. A female victim reported walking westbound on the path beside the lake between Ashley Way and Alta Avenue. She was alone when an unknown man approached her, asking for assistance to take a photo with his cell phone. During this encounter, the victim was assaulted, although shaken, she was not physically injured.

Early this morning, March 13th, at 12:36 a.m., emergency services responded to a single-vehicle collision in the 32200 block of King Road. Upon arrival, they discovered a heavily damaged pickup truck that had struck a telephone pole and flipped over. The two occupants of the truck were noted suffering from life-threatening injuries. Despite the immediate efforts of civilians and first responders, both occupants tragically succumbed to their injuries at the scene.

On February 17, 2025, just before 7am, Abbotsford Police Patrol officers from Shift 2 received information about a stolen Ford F450 being tracked into the Sumas Mountain area of Abbotsford. The vehicle, stolen earlier that morning from a Langley hotel parking lot, contained the hockey gear of the owner's son, who was visiting the lower mainland for a hockey tournament.

Independent Investigations Office about a police-involved collision that occurred at the intersection of King Road & Gladwin Road.
On February 20th, 2025, at 4:05 pm, an Abbotsford Police vehicle, occupied by two Abbotsford Police Officers, was proceeding along King Road near the intersection of Gladwin Road. As the police vehicle approached the intersection of King Road and Gladwin Road, a collision occurred with a civilian vehicle.

On February 11th, 2025, at 8:00 am, Abbotsford Police Patrol officers responded to an overnight shooting that occurred within the 900 block of Columbia Street after a resident discovered bullet holes in their home. Witnesses reported hearing gunshots around 12:40 am but did not contact the police at that time. Fortunately, no one was injured in this incident.

In October 2024, the Abbotsford Police Department's Major Crime Unit initiated an
investigation into reports of children being assaulted by the owner operator of a daycare in East Abbotsford. The alleged incidents, dating back to 2022, involved children aged 2 to 6 years old.

At 12:30 am this morning, Abbotsford Police Officers attempted to stop a vehicle in the Mission area for a Motor Vehicle Act violation. The driver of the suspect vehicle, a mustang did not comply and fled the attempted traffic stop. Shortly after, the suspect vehicle travelled southbound in the northbound lanes of Highway 11 and collided head-on with a northbound civilian vehicle.

On January 3, 2025, at 2:46 pm, Abbotsford Police Patrol Officers responded to a reported vehicle fire within Sumas Mountain Regional Park along the Forest Service Road. Upon arrival, officers discovered a red 2014 Mitsubishi Outlander that had been set on fire.
