Abbotsford Police Officer Injured

At 8:31 pm on Saturday, June 19th Abbotsford Police officers responded to a theft in progress in the 30600 block of Progressive Way.  When officers arrived, they located an occupied Ford E350 (later determined to be stolen) with one male driver and another male on foot nearby. Responding officers report when they pulled in behind the E350 the driver began ramming the police vehicle to get away. Both officers escaped injury by exiting the vehicle before being hit. A spike belt was deployed and the E350 fled north from the location. The remaining male at scene was taken into custody.

Detectives investigating a serious assault at Garibaldi Park

The Abbotsford Police Department is investigating a serious assault that occurred on June 17, 2021 in Garibaldi Park at 2985 Gladwin Road.  One victim was transported to hospital by Abbotsford Emergency Services for medical treatment.

Two in custody in relation to stabbing on Peardonville Road

Today, Friday, June 11, at 1:45 pm, Abbotsford’s Emergency Services were called to the 2400 block of Countess Street for reports of a person suffering from apparent stab wounds. Upon arrival, police located the victim, who was transported to the hospital for medical treatment. 

Alcohol may have been factor in crash between two cars at Whatcom Rd and North Parallel Road on May 24

AbbyPD Major Crime Detectives arrest suspect in home invasion

In the early morning hours of January 10, 2018, Abbotsford Police officers responded to a home invasion in the 2200 block of Windsor Street.  Armed masked men broke into the home and tied up the residents, a man and his teenage son. Police believe this was a targeted robbery. Fortunately, the victims did not sustain physical injuries; however, they were emotionally impacted by this incident.

Today, Wednesday, June 2, 2021, at 11:29 am, an armed suspect attempted to rob the Scotiabank on Gladwin Road.  The suspect walked into the bank brandishing a shotgun and demanded that everyone lie on the ground. The suspect threw bags onto the counter and demanded money.

While patrolling central Abbotsford on Thursday, May 20, 2021 at 4:15 am, an Abbotsford Police patrol officer heard an explosion on Walsh Avenue.  Upon responding to this location, the officer found a dumpster on fire in an alley and observed a fire at a nearby recycling depot across the street.  Investigators have located numerous locations in this area where the suspect lit small fires.
