AbbyPD seeking vehicle involved in fatal hit and run

Last night at 8:30 pm, Abbotsford Emergency Services responded to a hit-and-run involving a pedestrian in the 32600 block of Marshall Road.  A newer model SUV-type vehicle struck a 77-year-old South Asian male who was walking on the roadway.

You've probably seen Speed Watch volunteers near high crash locations. Their portable speed radar equipment and big flashing reader boards give you instant feedback on how fast you're driving. Volunteers record the vehicle speeds and submit their reports to the Traffic Enforcement Unit and ICBC. Areas with high incidents of speeding will be considered for future police enforcement.

The Abbotsford Police continue to look for 31-year-old Ci Hong LIAO and are asking the public’s assistance to locate him.

On July 4, 2019 at approximately 11:45pm, Ci Hong Liao was last seen entering his hotel room at the Best Western located at 32110 Marshall Road as a part of a Taiwanese Tour Group.

The Abbotsford Police are reminding those watching the Abbotsford International Airshow to keep their drones away from the airport this weekend.  This year, the Abbotsford Airshow will be using drone detection equipment, and on-site Abbotsford Police members will be notified if a drone is detected.  Police will take immediate steps to locate the operator of the equipment.

At 5 pm last night, a lone female wearing a wig, sunglasses and dark clothing entered a clothing store in Cedar Park Place.  The sales staff were suspicious of her actions and when confronted, she produced a firearm and threatened the staff with it.

On August 6, 2019, shortly after midnight, a 42 year old female was assaulted in her back yard in the Clearbrook area, north of Highway 1 in Abbotsford.  The investigation is currently being handled by Major Crime detectives and supported by the Patrol Branch.

On July 28, 2019 around 11:00pm, Abbotsford Police responded to an altercation between two people at a homeless camp on Gladys Ave. A male in his early 60’s sustained severe stab wounds and was transported to hospital, where he remains in serious condition.

On July 26, 2019 at 3:27 pm Abbotsford Emergency Services responded to a serious collision involving a pick-up truck and SUV at Marion Rd and Wells Line Rd.

At this location, a SUV with one occupant, the driver; and a pick-up truck with three occupants collided.
