Shot fired at vehicle, 7 in custody
Last night at approximately 10:30 pm, Abbotsford Police patrol officers responded to a report of shots fired at an unoccupied vehicle.
The target vehicle was parked at a rural residence in south-east Abbotsford. After the shot was fired, the suspect vehicle, followed by 2 others, fled the area.

Dangerous driving leads to firearm and drug seizure
Tuesday evening, at approximately 8:50 pm, an Abbotsford Police patrol officer observed a Nissan Altima travelling at approximately 130 km/hr on Downes Road. The Altima was also observed passing another vehicle on a double solid line.

Police Seek Witnesses in Gas Station Robbery
The Abbotsford Police Department is seeking witnesses to a robbery which occurred at the Shell gas station on Harris Road at approximately 3:30 pm on Saturday, May 25th. On this date, a male walked up to the cashier, produced a gun and demanded money. The suspect obtained an undisclosed amount of cash and fled the scene on foot.

On May 31, 2019, the Abbotsford Police Department will be partnering with IRSU
(Integrated Road Safety Unit), WorkSafeBC, and the Work Zone Safety Alliance to raise
awareness about the risks workers face while working on, or alongside, our roadways.
The goal of the Cone Zone Campaign, now in its ninth year, is to prevent injuries and
death of roadside workers by reminding all motorists to obey the law when approaching a cone zone.

Update- stamp owner located
The Abbotsford Police Department is pleased to advise that the stamp collection found earlier this week by a Good Samaritan has been returned to its rightful owner – the Abbotsford chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star. This stamp collection had been donated to the fraternal society by a stamp collector, and was stolen from a Masonic Hall last Thursday during a meeting.

Rifle seized during warrant arrest
On May 22, 2019, plain clothes officers in the Abbotsford Police Department Crime
Reduction Unit observed a vehicle being operated by a male who was known to be a
prohibited driver. Due to the subject’s previous dangerous driving behavior, officers
surveilled the vehicle until it stopped in a Chilliwack parking lot, and the occupant, 39 yearold Tyler HOULE exited.

AbbyPD investigating arson to occupied residence
Abbotsford Emergency Services were called to a residence in the 2200 block of Bedford Pl. for a vehicle on fire. Upon arrival, Abbotsford Fire Rescue Service located a fully-engulfed minivan near the residence. Fire crews found smoke in the garage and attic areas of the home, but were able to quickly extinguish the fire in the residence.

Stamp Collection located
A Good Samaritan located a large collection of cancelled stamps that were hidden away in a bush located in central Abbotsford. Tens of thousands of stamps in this collection have been carefully separated into section, packaged and labelled.

AbbyPD Investigating Suspicious Fire During Arrest of Barricaded Male
This morning at 10:32 am, Abbotsford Police Officers attended a residence in the 31700 block of Southdale Cres to conduct a follow up with a female victim from a domestic violence investigation. While the officers were inside the residence, they learned that the male suspect from the domestic investigation was inside the home, breaching his court ordered conditions to have no contact with the female and to not attend her residence.

Between January 1 and April 30th, 2019, 509 crimes against persons (including assaults, homicides and robberies) were reported to the Abbotsford Police Department. Road Safety Foundation and the Insurance Corporation of British Columbia. Alexa’s Team is named for Alexa Middelaer, who was killed by an impaired driver in 2008 when she was just four years old.
