Single Motor Vehicle Collision on Gladys Avenue, Abbotsford, BC

On June 9th, 2023, at 8:43 pm, AbbyPD Patrols Officers responded to the 2800 block of Gladys Ave for a report of a vehicle that had rolled over into a water-filled ditch.

Arriving at the scene, members of the Abbotsford Police Department, Abbotsford Fire Rescue Service, and BC Ambulance Service successfully extricated the single occupant of the vehicle, a 59-year-old male who had suffered life-threatening injuries.

Fatal Collision in Central Abbotsford

Today June 4th, 2023, at 6:27 pm, AbbyPD Patrol Officers responded to a serious collision at the intersection of Gladwin Road and Nanaimo Cres.

Upon arrival, emergency service workers located a two-vehicle collision involving a passenger car and a motorcycle. The driver of the motorcycle, a 58-year-old man, suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported to the hospital, but sadly succumbed to his injuries. The 21-year-old female driver of the car sustained non-life-threatening injuries and is cooperating with police.

Suspect Arrested for Indecent Act in Elwood Park

On May 3rd, 2023, at 9:36 am, Abbotsford Police Patrol Officers responded to Elwood Park in the 31400 block of Maclure Road for a reported indecent act in progress.

The female caller reported that the man had been exposing himself to individuals in the park. AbbyPD officers were immediately dispatched and attended to the park, entering on foot.

AbbyPD Investigates Mischief and Property Damage on Broadway Street

On April 29th, 2023, at 12:39am, Abbotsford Police Patrol Officers responded to a report of mischief in progress at a residence in the 2300 block of Broadway Street. Upon arrival, officers confirmed extensive property damage to four vehicles and parts of the home.

Suspect Arrested in Uber Driver Assault

On April 18th at 6:47 am, AbbyPD Patrol Officers responded to the 2300 block of McCallum Road for an assault on an Uber driver. Prior to police arrival, the suspect fled the scene on foot.

Patrol officers conducted extensive patrols in the area, but the suspect was not located. The victim in this incident was injured and extremely shaken due to the suspect’s violent actions. Over the past week, AbbyPD officers have been advancing this investigation, working with Uber and our law enforcement partners to identify and arrest the suspect.

AbbyPD Investigates Indecent Act at Elwood Park

On March 30th, 2023, at 11:50 am, Abbotsford Police Patrol Officers responded to Elwood Park, located within the 31400 block of Maclure Road, for a reported indecent act.

The female caller advised that she observed a man in the park exposing himself upon seeing her. The man is described as a tanned-skinned male, 40-50 years of age, 5’8”, with grey hair.

Major Crime Detectives Investigating Home Invasion

On April 10th, at approximately 12:57 am, AbbyPD Patrol officers responded to a report of a home invasion in the 1500 block of Bowman Road. A group of male suspects wearing dark clothing entered an occupied residence on the property, displayed a firearm, and assaulted two residents on the property.

Firearms, Drugs & Cash Seized During Traffic Stop

On April 11th at 7:00 pm, AbbyPD Plainclothes Officers were conducting routine patrols in the 32000 block of Mt. Waddington Ave when they observed a brown Jeep owned by a known offender leave a problem residence in the area. A short time later, a traffic stop was conducted.

Four occupants were present in the vehicle at the time of the stop. One of the occupants, a 34-year-old man, was arrested on outstanding warrants for Possession of Stolen Property and driving offences.

On April 7th, 2023, Major Crime Detectives arrested a 38-Year-Old man for robbery relating to this incident.  To date, investigators have confirmed that this incident was targeted, with the intended recipient being another individual associated with the residence.

On April 1st, at 8:06 pm, AbbyPD Patrol Officers responded to a residence within the 300 block of Ross Road. The 62-year-old female victim reported being robbed by five unknown males who were wearing face masks while outside on her property.
