On October 11, 2022, at 8:17 am, AbbyPD Patrol Officers encountered a serious collision at the intersection of George Ferguson Way and Bourquin Cres West while conducting patrols.

On October 4th, at 10:50 pm, AbbyPD Patrol Officers responded to an active rail line along Gladys Ave at Essendene Ave for a man being held by another male in front of an approaching rail equipment car.
Prior to police arrival, the operator immediately applied his emergency brakes, bringing the rail car to a stop just short of the victim. The suspect immediately fled the scene. Arriving patrol officers quickly located the fleeing suspect who was non-compliant during his arrest. The victim, although shaken, was not injured.

On October 4th, 2022, members of the AbbyPD Major Crime Unit, with the assistance of Patrol Officers, arrested Derek Wilkinson a 39-year-old Abbotsford resident in relation to this incident.
Mr.Wilkinson has been charged with Assault with a Weapon, and Assault Causing Bodily Harm. Mr.Wilkinson remains in custody pending his next court appearance.

Early this morning, October 2nd, 2022, at 05:37 am, an Abbotsford Police Officer conducting routine patrols located an injured man in the parking lot of 31940 South Fraser Way. The 41-year-old victim was confirmed to be suffering from a stab wound.

On September 29th, 2022, at 6:25 pm, AbbyPD Patrol Officers responded to a serious collision at the intersection of Wells Line Road and McDermott Road.

On August 13th, 2022, at 8:45 pm, AbbyPD Patrol Officers responded to an assault within the 34400 block of Pearl Ave. Upon arrival, officers spoke to the youth victim who had been assaulted by an unknown man after this same man accused a group of youths of damaging a newspaper box in the area.

On September 26th, at 4:12 pm, AbbyPD responded to a report of a robbery in progress at a local gas station in the 32400 block of South Fraser Way. A lone man entered the gas station and proceeded to steal items from within the store. When confronted by the store clerk, the man presented a large sword, swinging it at the clerk, before fleeing the store on foot.

On September 20th, at 4:55 am, AbbyPD Patrol Officers responded to a Hit & Run collision involving a pedestrian along George Ferguson Way at Nelson Place. The dark sedan vehicle involved, fled the scene. Upon arrival, emergency personnel located a 21-year-old female suffering from non-life-threatening injuries.

On September 18, 2022, at 1:33 pm, the Abbotsford Police Department received a report that a home invasion had just occurred in the 27000 block of Fraser Highway. Three male suspects had produced weapons and forced their way into the home, threatening family members inside. The males then fled prior to police being called.

On September 9th, 2022, at 4:23 am, Abbotsford Police Patrol Officers located a vehicle towing a stolen trailer along Highway 11 & Hallert Road. The trailer had been stolen minutes earlier from the Mission area and was loaded with ATV's and a dirt bike.

In early August, AbbyPD Patrol Officers began a drug trafficking investigation into a residence within the 2300 block of Hemlock Street. As the file evolved, the AbbyPD Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) began to assist.

Over the past five months, AbbyPD has responded to eight home invasions at licenced medical marijuana grow operations within the City of Abbotsford. These incidents have occurred within urban and rural areas of the city, occurring within the early morning hours of 2 am to 5 am.
The Abbotsford Police Major Crime Unit are continuing to investigate a report of a possible child abduction attempt that occurred on August 15, 2022, at approximately 8:30 pm, at a residence in the 2700 block of Maple St.
The child victim reported that an unknown male reached through an open bedroom window and pulled them out of the bedroom, along the side of the bouse and out to the roadway. The child victim then broke free, and the suspect fled in an unknown direction. The child victim did not receive any injuries.
Last night, at 8:54 pm, the Abbotsford Police responded to a possible child abduction attempt at a residence in the 2700 block of Maple St.
Initial information received is that an unknown male broke into a residence and attempted to pull a child out of a ground floor bedroom window. The child broke free and did not receive any injuries.
