Rifle seized during warrant arrest
On May 22, 2019, plain clothes officers in the Abbotsford Police Department Crime
Reduction Unit observed a vehicle being operated by a male who was known to be a
prohibited driver. Due to the subject’s previous dangerous driving behavior, officers
surveilled the vehicle until it stopped in a Chilliwack parking lot, and the occupant, 39 yearold Tyler HOULE exited.
With the assistance of the Lower Mainland District Police Dog Service Unit, Mr. HOULE
was arrested without incident on outstanding warrants. A search of his vehicle yielded a loaded and unregistered SKS rifle. Police continue this investigation.
HOULE is facing additional charges of prohibited driving, and of occupying a vehicle
knowing a prohibited firearm, restricted firearm or non-restricted firearm was contained

several court conditions. His next court appearance is scheduled for June 17, 2019.
