On December 16th, 2022, at 7:44 pm, Abbotsford Police Patrol Officers responded to a motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian at Bevan Avenue and Gladwin Road in Abbotsford.
Upon arrival, emergency service workers located a female pedestrian who reportedly had been struck by a vehicle. The female victim was transported to the hospital with serious injuries.

On December 11, 2022, at 12:04 am, AbbyPD Patrol Officers responded to a serious collision at the 3600 block of Lefeuvre Road after being notified by the BC Ambulance Service.

On the evening of November 26th, AbbyPD officers were present at the Offspring Rock Concert at the Abbotsford Centre located at 33800 King Road. After the concert was let out, officers were dealing with a member of the public when an unrelated citizen, who became the subject of the video, began to interfere with the officer’s investigation.

In July of this year, the Abbotsford Police Department Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) initiated a drug trafficking investigation into the numerous Abbotsford overdose deaths connected to a known drug trafficking operation within our city. DEU investigators were able to identify and target the suppliers and street-level dealers of this operation.

Each year Alexa’s Team recognizes the work of British Columbia police officers who are dedicated to removing impaired drivers off our streets.
Alexa’s Team was created in 2009 by the Middelaer family after their four year old daughter Alexa was killed by an impaired driver in Delta, British Columbia, in 2008.

On November 4, 2022, at approximately 2:50 am, Abbotsford Police Patrol Members responded to multiple calls of a man being assaulted within the 32000 block of Mt. Waddington Avenue.

On November 5, 2022, at approximately 1 am, the Abbotsford Police Department responded to a structure fire at an occupied residence at 3030 Trethewey Street. Upon arrival, Abbotsford Fire Rescue Service and Abbotsford Police Patrol Members assisted with the evacuation of the occupants. No occupants were injured in this incident.

On October 27th, 2022, at 4:48 pm, Abbotsford Police Patrol Officers responded to a motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian in the 33000 block of South Fraser Way.
Upon arrival, emergency service workers located a 24-year-old female who had been struck by a vehicle. The female was transported to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

On October 19th at 1:58 pm, the Abbotsford Police Department responded to Bakerview Centre for Learning located in the 32600 block of Marshall Road for a report of a suspicious man who had entered the school. School administration immediately confronted the man asking him to leave the school. As a result, the school was placed on lockdown as a safety precaution.

On October 20th, 2022, at 2:31 pm, Abbotsford Police Patrol Officers responded to a serious collision within the 31500 Block of Blueridge Drive.
Upon arrival, emergency service workers located an 85-year-old pedestrian that had been struck by a vehicle and was airlifted to hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the vehicle was uninjured, remained at the scene and is cooperating with police.

On October 11, 2022, at 8:17 am, AbbyPD Patrol Officers encountered a serious collision at the intersection of George Ferguson Way and Bourquin Cres West while conducting patrols.

On October 4th, at 10:50 pm, AbbyPD Patrol Officers responded to an active rail line along Gladys Ave at Essendene Ave for a man being held by another male in front of an approaching rail equipment car.
Prior to police arrival, the operator immediately applied his emergency brakes, bringing the rail car to a stop just short of the victim. The suspect immediately fled the scene. Arriving patrol officers quickly located the fleeing suspect who was non-compliant during his arrest. The victim, although shaken, was not injured.

On October 4th, 2022, members of the AbbyPD Major Crime Unit, with the assistance of Patrol Officers, arrested Derek Wilkinson a 39-year-old Abbotsford resident in relation to this incident.
Mr.Wilkinson has been charged with Assault with a Weapon, and Assault Causing Bodily Harm. Mr.Wilkinson remains in custody pending his next court appearance.

Early this morning, October 2nd, 2022, at 05:37 am, an Abbotsford Police Officer conducting routine patrols located an injured man in the parking lot of 31940 South Fraser Way. The 41-year-old victim was confirmed to be suffering from a stab wound.
