The Abbotsford Police Department is investigating an incident that occurred on August 29, 2024, at approximately 1:30 PM on the hiking trails around Sumas Mountain Regional Park.
A female hiker reported being approached by an unknown male who allegedly attempted to pull her into his vehicle for unknown reasons. Fortunately, the hiker managed to break free and escape.

On Friday, August 30, 2024, at 6:53 a.m., AbbyPD officers responded to a reported collision at the intersection of Mt. Lehman Road and Marshall Road Extension in Abbotsford, BC.
Upon arrival, officers located a pickup truck in a ditch. The driver and sole occupant, identified as a 42-year-old male, appeared to have sustained life-threatening injuries. Despite immediate efforts by first responders, the individual unfortunately succumbed to his injuries.

On August 17th, 2024, at 3:31 pm, AbbyPD Patrol Officers responded to a serious collision at the intersection of Golden Avenue and Trethewey Street.
Upon arrival, emergency service workers located a motor vehicle collision involving a motorcycle which had collided with a light standard. Tragically, the operator of the motorcycle succumbed to his injuries.

Background:
In late 2022, the Abbotsford Police Department’s Drug Enforcement Unit initiated a
large-scale drug trafficking investigation focusing on the activities of two Abbotsford
residents, Anmol SANDHU and Navpreet DHALIWAL. Both men are connected to the
ongoing BC Gang Conflict and present a significant public safety risk.
Today, July 22, 2024, at 3:22 pm, AbbyPD officers responded to the intersection of Garden St and Simon Ave in Abbotsford for a reported collision involving a motor vehicle and a cyclist.
At the scene, police identified a 26-year-old male cyclist who appeared to have sustained serious injuries. Medical aid was immediately provided at the scene, and the male was transported to hospital for further care and assessment of injuries.

The AbbyPD Crime Reduction Unit is currently investigating a series of residential Break & Enters that have occurred in the Abbotsford area involving a Caucasian male believed to be 30-40 years of age.
Today, investigators are releasing the man’s photo and looking for public assistance in identifying the arrestable man for Break & Enter. If you observe this man, please do not approach and call 911.

Today, Thursday, July 11, 2024, at 5:06 am, Abbotsford Police patrol officers responded to a residence in the 2000 block of Topaz St. for a reported weapons complaint.
Upon police arrival, a 38-year-old male was located appearing to have sustained a gunshot wound. The male was transported to hospital.

Yesterday, July 5, 2024, at 7:48 p.m., AbbyPD patrol officers responded to McCallum Rd and McDougall Ave intersection, Abbotsford, for a reported motor vehicle collision involving an SUV and a motorcycle driven by a 60-year-old male.
Arriving at the scene, officers located the 60-year-old male motorcyclist in critical condition, appearing to have sustained serious injuries. Medical aid was immediately provided, and the male was transported to hospital.

Last week, the AbbyPD Traffic Enforcement Unit, over a 48-hour window, focused on identifying and taking enforcement action on excessive speeding within Abbotsford. During this time, commuter and high-traffic corridors were the focus of this enforcement, using a covert and overt approach.

On Tuesday, June 11, 2024, at 9:24 p.m., AbbyPD patrol officers responded to a reported three-vehicle collision on Hwy 1 westbound, west of Clearbrook Rd.
As a result of the collision, three persons were transported to hospital. Two persons appear to have suffered minor injuries, while a third individual is being treated for serious injuries.
Currently, Hwy 1 westbound, west of Clearbrook Rd. is closed. Investigators are still on scene, determining what factors led to the collision. The Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service (ICARS) have been requested to assist with the investigation.
The closure will remain in place for a prolonged period, and the public is urged to avoid the area if possible.

The Abbotsford Police Department is investigating a reported stranger assault that occurred on Tuesday, May 13th, 2024, at 5:15 p.m. at the intersection of Kind Rd and King Connector, Abbotsford B.C.
Initial reports indicated that an unknown male, riding an electric scooter in the area, proceeded to cut off a vehicle. The male became confrontational and caused damage by slashing one of the car’s tires.

The Abbotsford Police are still searching for missing 27-year-old Wesley Bosman and the public and media assistance has been incredibly appreciated.
We are now asking the public for any dashcam footage in the area of Highway 11 between Hazelwood Ave and the Mission Bridge on Tuesday April 23rd between 3:00 a.m. and 5 a.m. The most recent confirmed sighting of Wesley was on Highway 11, just north of Hazelwood Ave.

Abbotsford Police responded to a single report of possible shots fired heard in the area of Sugarpine St at approximately 2:00 a.m. on April 22, 2024. Officers patrolled the area and found no evidence of a shooting at the time.
