Overnight Arrest of Property Offender Operating a Stolen Vehicle

On December 16th at 9:20pm, a member of the Lower Mainland Integrated Police Dog Service (IPDS) located a stolen Toyota Tacoma Pickup traveling eastbound on Highway 1 from the Coquitlam area, which had been stolen during a residential Break & Enter in Burnaby on December 14th.

AbbyPD Investigating Serious Collision Involving a Pedestrian

This morning, at 11:11 am, AbbyPD patrol officers responded to the intersection of Townline Road & Upper Maclure Road for a reported collision involving a motor vehicle and a pedestrian.

Upon arrival, emergency service workers located a single vehicle that had struck a pedestrian who was crossing at the intersection. The 20-year-old pedestrian sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to the hospital via air ambulance. The driver was uninjured, remained on the scene, and is cooperating with police.

AbbyPD Responds to Shots Fired Call on Harris Road

On December 8th, 2024, at 06:17 hours, AbbyPD Patrol Officers responded to the report of shots fired on a property in the 31500 Block of Harris Road.

The initial investigation has determined that a property owner arrived to find a man on
his property. An interaction occurred between the owner of the property and a male
suspect, resulting in the suspect discharging a firearm and fleeing on foot. 

AbbyPD Responds to Shots Fired on Holly Street

At 7:42 am today, AbbyPD Patrol officers responded to the 2100 block of Holly Street after receiving reports of shots being fired in the area. Prior to police arriving, the suspects fled the area in a red sedan. AbbyPD Patrol officers arrived on the scene and confirmed that a residence had been shot at, but fortunately, there were no injuries reported. AbbyPD believes this incident to be targeted.

On November 24th, 2024, at 3:16 am, AbbyPD Patrol Officers responded to the 32300 block of Huntingdon Road for a female screaming for help. Prior to police arrival, the female had made her way to a residence in the area and requested police assistance.

This evening, at 6:45 pm, AbbyPD patrol officers responded to the 32900 block of George Ferguson Way for a reported collision involving a motor vehicle and a pedestrian.
Upon arrival, emergency service workers located a single vehicle that had struck a pedestrian on the roadway. The pedestrian sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to the hospital via air ambulance. The driver was uninjured, remained on the scene, and is cooperating with police.

 

AbbyPD Responds to Shots-Fired Call

On October 29, 2024, AbbyPD Patrol officers responded to a report of an overnight shooting that occurred within the 3700 block of Harwood Cres.

Shortly after 10:00 am, a resident in the area discovered that their truck parked in front of their residence had been struck by several bullets and called the police.  No one was injured in this incident.  

AbbyPD Crime Reduction Unit Investigating Telecommunications Wire Thefts

During the past few weeks, the Abbotsford Police Department Crime Reduction Unit has been investigating an uptick in commercial wire thefts targeting Telus communication lines throughout the Abbotsford area.

These thefts have resulted in over $100,000 worth of damage to Telus infrastructure, interrupting critical 911 and other telecommunication services.

On Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at 2:05 PM, AbbyPD patrol officers responded to a reported motor vehicle incident involving three vehicles in the 3000 block of Townline Road. in Abbotsford, BC.

Upon arrival to the scene, officers identified three drivers, two of which have been transported to hospital, with one appearing to have sustained life-threatening injuries.

Upon arrival at the scene, officers identified a 60-year-old female suffering from life-threatening injuries. Unfortunately, she succumbed to her injuries.
