AbbyPD Traffic Enforcement Unit Impounds 42 Vehicles in 48 Hours

Last week, the AbbyPD Traffic Enforcement Unit, over a 48-hour window, focused on identifying and taking enforcement action on excessive speeding within Abbotsford. During this time, commuter and high-traffic corridors were the focus of this enforcement, using a covert and overt approach.

Three vehicle collision in Abbotsford, B.C. prompts Hwy 1 Closure

On Tuesday, June 11, 2024, at 9:24 p.m., AbbyPD patrol officers responded to a reported three-vehicle collision on Hwy 1 westbound, west of Clearbrook Rd.

As a result of the collision, three persons were transported to hospital. Two persons appear to have suffered minor injuries, while a third individual is being treated for serious injuries.


Currently, Hwy 1 westbound, west of Clearbrook Rd. is closed. Investigators are still on scene, determining what factors led to the collision. The Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service (ICARS) have been requested to assist with the investigation.

The closure will remain in place for a prolonged period, and the public is urged to avoid the area if possible.

The Abbotsford Police Department is investigating a reported stranger assault that occurred on Tuesday, May 13th, 2024, at 5:15 p.m. at the intersection of Kind Rd and King Connector, Abbotsford B.C.

Initial reports indicated that an unknown male, riding an electric scooter in the area, proceeded to cut off a vehicle. The male became confrontational and caused damage by slashing one of the car’s tires.

The Abbotsford Police are still searching for missing 27-year-old Wesley Bosman and the public and media assistance has been incredibly appreciated.

We are now asking the public for any dashcam footage in the area of Highway 11 between Hazelwood Ave and the Mission Bridge on Tuesday April 23rd between 3:00 a.m. and 5 a.m. The most recent confirmed sighting of Wesley was on Highway 11, just north of Hazelwood Ave.

Abbotsford Police Department investigating fatal overnight collision involving a pedestrian on Hwy 11

The Abbotsford Police Department is investigating a collision that occurred overnight in the 5300 block of Highway 11.

Frontline officers were called to the area at 11:31 p.m. on April 20, 2024, locating the decedent, who appeared to have sustained serious and life-threatening injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The Abbotsford Police Department's Major Crime Unit (MCU) is in the preliminary stages of an investigation into the suspicious death of a 63-year-old male.

The decedent was transported to hospital on April 9th, 2024, after being observed to seemingly be in medical distress in the Sunnyside St / Old Yale Rd area of Abbotsford.
Investigators are appealing to the public who may have been in the area on April 9th, 2024, between 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. and may have information or dashcam footage.

On Sunday, April 7th, at 3:44 pm, Surrey RCMP received reports of an erratic driver operating a red 2016 Chevy Cruze proceeding eastbound along 100th Ave from 148th Street. Citizens reported the vehicle traveling at high speeds, swerving all over the road, and running multiple red lights.

On March 15th, 2024, at 10:50pm, Abbotsford Police Patrol Officers responded to the report of an assault in progress at a residence in the 3400 Block of Wagner Drive.

Upon arrival, AbbyPD Patrol Officers located a 41-year-old female suffering from life-threatening injuries. Life saving efforts were immediately provided, however the victim succumbed to her injuries.

Abbotsford Police Department’s Major Crime Unit and Drug Enforcement Unit make arrests related to significant investigations

In late 2022, the Abbotsford Police Department’s Drug Enforcement Unit initiated an investigation into the drug trafficking behaviours of two individuals identified as Anmol SANDHU and Navdeep DHALIWAL of Abbotsford, BC.

The investigation culminated in the execution of multiple search warrants in Abbotsford and Surrey which resulted in the identification of evidence supporting charges under the Criminal Code of Canada and the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
